Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The facility has 241 licensed beds and is designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center.
The unit consists of 32 beds with an average census of 28.
Common patient diagnoses include total joint replacements, colon resection, gallbladder surgery, appendectomy, amputations, medical overflow, hip fractures, and SBO.
Nurse-to-patient ratios during the day shift range from 1:4 to 1:6, while night shift ratios range from 1:5 to 1:6.
During surge staffing, ratios could increase to 1:7-8.
CNA support is available for vital signs, baths, mobility, and blood sugar checks.
Receptionist and HUC duties include rounding and secretarial responsibilities.
There is a charge nurse available to assist with all nursing care.
Phlebotomy services are provided, apart from the nurse draws.
Respiratory therapy is available 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring and tech support are also provided.
Floating to other facilities within the region may be required based on patient needs.
When floating mid-shift, the traveler will be compensated for traveling time.
The weekend rotation requires working every other weekend.
There may be low census calls requiring possible return to shifts.
Holiday work will be expected for 75% of holidays.
Requesting time off is permitted, with up to 6 days off allowed, excluding holidays.
Shift times will vary between 0645-1900 and 1845-0700, with scheduling cycles occurring every 6 weeks.
