Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry. Description: We are seeking an RN specializing in MedSurg/Telemetry. This unit has 30 beds with a typical census of 30 patients. Common diagnoses include heart failure, A-Fib, acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, respiratory failure, COPD, asthma, NSTEMI, sepsis, and diabetes. Patients may present with acute or chronic diseases and may be post-op from surgeries and cardiac procedures. The RN will have a patient ratio of 1:4-6. Your role will include care coordination with the interdisciplinary team and discharge planning, particularly on renal and fluid management. You will be responsible for patient education and monitoring patient's vital signs. Nursing support staff such as CNAs and resource nurses will assist in your duties. The ideal candidate will have experience managing drips, including insulin and heparin, along with competency in EKG interpretation. Technology utilized includes an EMR, IV pumps, and monitors for telemetry. Weekend rotation includes 5-6 shifts out of 12 in a 6-week schedule.
