Description:
This position is for an RN in the MedSurg/Telemetry unit.
The unit has a total of 34 beds with an average census of 32.
Patients in this unit include those with diagnoses such as ESRD, CHF, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes/DKA, and acute/chronic renal failure.
Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day shift and 1:6 during the night shift (with a critical surge ratio of 1:7-8).
Support within the department includes CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, pharmacists, case managers, a nurse educator, and hospitalists available 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is also provided.
Technology in use includes EMR, IV pumps, and patient monitoring systems.
Floating may be required per regional needs within the scope of practice.
