Description:
The RN will be assigned to a medical/surgical and telemetry unit.
This unit supports all inpatient units and emergency department holding.
Common patient diagnoses include CHF, COPD, chest pain workup, stroke symptoms, and respiratory issues.
Patient ratios are approximately 1:5-6, with a critical surge ratio of 1:7-8.
Support staff includes CNAs and charge nurses, although charge nurses may or may not have patient assignments.
Phlebotomy services and an IV/VAT team are available during specific hours.
Resource nurses will assist as staffing allows.
This role requires the nurse to be proficient in medication management, including cardiac drips and blood products.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted by a dedicated team.
The role may involve floating to different units within the organization based on patient care needs.
Traveling nurses will be compensated for travel time between facilities.
Weekend rotations are required every other week.
Traveling nurses will work a significant percentage of holidays.
Requests for time off are permitted within specific guidelines.
Schedule cycles are organized every six weeks.
Scrub color mandated is navy.
