Description:
The position involves caring for patients in a medical/surgical and telemetry setting.
The unit will vary based on assignment.
Patient types include those with congestive heart failure, COPD, chest pain, stroke symptoms, and respiratory issues.
Common diagnoses also include surgical patients with total joint replacements, spinal surgery, and general medical overflow.
The nurse will work collaboratively with support staff, including CNAs and charge nurses.
Patient ratios will typically be 1:5-6, with some fluctuation during critical surges.
Key responsibilities also include monitoring patient telemetry.
The nurse will be required to float to various units as needed based on facility requirements.
The role requires effective communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
The expectation is to fulfill holiday and weekend rotation requirements.
Up to six days off may be approved, excluding holidays.
Candidates should be flexible and open to various nursing tasks as outlined.
