The unit will vary based on assignment. Patient types include those with congestive heart failure, COPD, chest pain, stroke symptoms, and respiratory issues. The nurse will work collaboratively with support staff, including CNAs and charge nurses. Patient ratios will typically be 1:5-6, with some fluctuation during critical surges. Key responsibilities also include monitoring patient telemetry. The nurse will be required to float to various units as needed based on facility requirements. The role requires effective communication and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The expectation is to fulfill holiday and weekend rotation requirements.
