Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience, must have orthopedic work experience License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS preferred; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Orthopedic experience - Experience with IV starts and telemetry - Traveler experience with Epic Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO might result in cancellation and DNR. The unit will accept first-time travelers with Epic experience. Travelers may be required to float to any other medical-surgical unit within the facility based on census needs. Every other weekend coverage is required. If an RN calls out on a weekend, they will be required to make up that time on a weekend. The average daily census is 37, with a range of orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients. The unit is fast-paced, requiring nurses who can manage pain effectively for ortho and spine patients. The unit expects a patient ratio of 5-6:1, which can flex up to 7:1 in extreme cases. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty. Must have strong neuro/spine and orthopedic experience.
