Description:
The RN will work on a MedSurg/Tele unit with a primary focus on general medical patients.
The unit has an average daily census of approximately 8 patients.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with support from CNAs.
Common patient diagnoses include cardiac issues, pneumonia, urinary tract infections, chest pain, and fluid overload.
Telemetry monitoring is available, and RNs are responsible for interpreting cardiac strips during shifts.
The unit includes support from hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7.
Nurses will be required to perform tasks such as obtaining vital signs, glucose checks, and performing hourly safety rounds with CNA assistance.
Experience with peripheral blood draws is preferred, although not required.
Nurses must be comfortable learning to start IVs as there is no dedicated IV team.
