Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry.
The unit has a total of 32 beds with an average patient census of 32 per day.
Patient types and common diagnoses include stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wounds.
The RN-to-patient ratio is typically 1:5-6, with surge staffing potentially resulting in ratios of 1:7-8.
Support staff includes CNAs who assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and feeding.
Phlebotomy and IV/VAT team support are available 24/7, along with hospitalists and intensivists.
Telemetry monitoring and technology, including an electronic medical record system and IV pumps, are utilized.
Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice.
A weekend rotation is expected, working every other weekend.
There is a possibility of low census call, and travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays.
Requests for time off will be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
