The facility has 637 licensed beds and is a Level 1 Trauma center. It is a teaching hospital with a dedicated Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center. The unit has 30 beds with an average census of 30 patients. Patient types include post/pre-cardiac patients and step-down ICU patients. Common diagnoses consist of CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and sepsis. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4-6. Certified Nursing Assistants are available to assist with vital signs, glucose checks, and patient care. The unit has a reception area staffed from 7 AM to 11 PM. A charge nurse is present on each unit. Patients require proactive care and support from trained staff. Telemetry monitoring is managed by a central telemetry unit. Experience working with EMR is required. The facility utilizes advanced medical equipment and technology. The team environment is busy, yet supportive, emphasizing collaboration among staff.
