The position requires experience with chronic diseases, CHF specialty area, Mental Health, Addiction Services, COPD, DM, and wound care. Candidates should possess general Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation and non-titrating cardiac drips. Experience with care of patients with tubes and drains, IV start skills, blood products, and dressing changes is essential. The patient ratio is typically 1:4-6, depending on acuity, with surges possibly increasing to 1:7-8. Traveling nurses will prioritize floating to other nursing units based on patient care needs and staffing demands. Flexibility and adaptability are required when floating to other units and handling MedSurg assignments in various settings. Travel nurses may need to float to different facilities as per regional needs within the scope of practice. Scheduling includes a weekend rotation every other weekend with expectations to work 75% of holidays. The department values teamwork and accountability in providing excellent patient care.
