Description:
This facility is a Level III Trauma teaching hospital.
It serves a diverse patient population with various diagnoses.
The average daily census is 8 patients on a 10-bed unit.
Patients commonly present with chest pain, syncope, and angina.
The RN to patient ratio is 1:5.
CNA support is provided with a ratio of 1:10.
The role includes general Med/Tele skillsets, including stroke experience and cardiac rhythm interpretation.
Skilled tasks will encompass trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and drain/tube management.
PCA pump management and medication gtt management, including cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, and IV fluids, are also required.
Resource team support includes admissions, discharges, and 24/7 hospitalist coverage.
Phlebotomy is a combined effort with the RN and IV teams available for assistance.
Technological requirements include familiarity with EMR systems and IV pump operation.
Nursing staff may be required to float to different units based on patient care needs.
Flexibility and adaptability are essential for this position.
Weekend rotations occur every other weekend.
Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays.
Approved time off may include up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
Scheduling cycles occur every 6 weeks.
