Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 depending on acuity, with surge staffing potentially increasing these ratios to 1:7-8. The unit has 27 beds with an average census of 20 patients. A nurse may be required to float within the region and will be compensated for time spent traveling between facilities. The department includes support staff such as CNAs, who can perform certain tasks if certified. The facility utilizes Epic for electronic medical records and has a range of equipment including Alaris IV pumps and Philips monitors. The culture is positive and team-driven.
