Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical

About the Position

This is an opportunity for a dedicated Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic healthcare team. The position involves working night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts per week, from 7 PM to 7 AM, with the requirement to work every other weekend and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a Medical Surgical unit.
• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
• Monitor patients' conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary medical procedures.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members.
• Supplement staff in other units as needed based on facility requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical experience required.
• License: Must possess a valid South Carolina nursing license or a Compact license.
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Required
• Skills: IV start skills are necessary; experience with telemetry and management of cardiac drips is preferred.

Miscellaneous Information

• Guaranteed hours: The facility reserves the right to call off one shift every two weeks.
• Parking: Free parking is available in unrestricted areas.
• Emergency Response: During hurricane season (June to November), all employees may be assigned to emergency response teams as needed.

Work Environment

The facility is an acute care hospital that offers a range of services with a total of 119 staffed beds. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment utilizing Epic for charting purposes, ensuring that the highest standards of patient care are maintained.
