Description

Job Opportunity – Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available. Every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:6. Contract length up to February 27, 2027.

Highlights:

  • Primary neuroscience unit specializing in stroke care, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injuries, and other neurological diagnoses
  • 42-bed unit with 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) for specialized care
  • Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and social services
  • 36-hour orientation program to ensure successful onboarding
  • Floating may be required to other Medical/Surgical and Telemetry areas based on facility needs
  • Contract designed to provide coverage through the holiday season with potential for extended assignments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical/Surgical experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required (at least 2 successful travel contracts completed)
  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Required certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with neuroscience patient populations including stroke, seizures, subdural hematomas, and traumatic brain injuries
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
