Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position in Winston-Salem, NC. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a busy academic medical center with a Level 1 Trauma designation. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive and dynamic environment, managing a variety of medical and surgical cases on a 12-hour day shift.
Job Details
- Position Description: RN - Medical Surgical with Telemetry, working in a busy academic hospital with a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications, and at least 1 year of MedSurg/Telemetry experience.
- Responsibilities include cardiac rhythm interpretation, managing PCA pumps, surgical drains, wound care, and TR bands. The RN will support the department with tasks such as obtaining vital signs, blood glucose checks, and assisting with ADLs.
- Schedule: Dayshift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Support within the Department: CNA support for vital signs, blood glucose, safety rounds, and ADLs; occasional full assignments including float support.
- Additional Information: The department uses Epic EMR, and equipment includes external fixators, chest tubes, PCAs, trachs, and complex wound care. Floating between units may be required. Orientation includes 2 days departmental training.
- Candidates must be comfortable managing gtts such as Cardizem, Nitro, and Amio, and be familiar with telemetry monitoring and cardiac strip interpretation.
