Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our MedSurg/Tele unit.
The unit has 24 beds with an average daily census of 24.
Patient types include various diagnoses such as cardiac, respiratory, and neuro.
The environment is fast-paced and involves observation of patients.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are typically 1:5-6, with potential surge staffing increasing ratios to 1:7-8.
The CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:12.
Support within the department includes a charge nurse who may have patient assignments but is primarily a resource for the staff.
Phlebotomy services, IV/VAT team, and respiratory therapy are available 24/7.
There is a hospitalist on site during the day, with virtual coverage in the evenings and overnight.
Telemetry monitoring is conducted remotely with the assistance of a tele tech.
Experience with the EPIC electronic medical record system is required.
Medications are dispensed using Omnicell systems, and monitoring is performed with Massimo devices in all patient rooms.
Travel between facilities may be required, and travelers can expect to float within their region and scope of practice.
The schedule includes a weekend rotation every other week, with potential call for low census situations.
Holiday expectations are for travelers to work 75% of the holidays.
Requests for time off are accepted, with a maximum of 6 days approved, excluding holidays.
