- Wound care and dressing changes
Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in MedSurg/Tele.
The unit has 34 beds, with an average census of 32.
Patient ratios are 1:5 during days and 1:6 during nights,
with staffing potentially increasing ratios up to 1:7-8 during surge staffing.
CNA support includes ratios of 1:12 for both days and nights.
The patient population includes diagnoses such as DKA, sepsis, wounds, CHF, AKI, pneumonia, diabetes, anemia, and sickle cell crisis.
Surgical cases include pancreatitis, spinal fusions, and orthopedic total joints (knees/hips).
Floating within the region and scope of practice is required,
and staff may be required to float to various facilities as needed.
Support within the department includes CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, pharmacists, case managers, nurse educators, and hospitalists.
Technology used includes an electronic medical record system and various medical equipment for patient monitoring and care.
