The position requires skills in orthopedic care, specifically with joints, replacements, and fractures. Nurses will be responsible for providing care to patients with a ratio of 1:5-6. There are approximately 22 total beds in the unit. Charges are managed by a Charge Nurse available 24/7. There are 3 CNA's per shift, managing a patient ratio of 1:7-8. The Nurse may need to float to other units as necessary. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required. The work schedule includes rotating weekends and holiday shifts. Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential for success in this position. The position does not require the RN to read telemetry strips. The charting system used is EPIC.
