The unit sees patients with total joint replacements and other musculoskeletal surgeries. Nurses are not required to have orthopedic experience for consideration as education will be provided upon hiring. Daily patient ratios are 1 RN to 4-6 patients. CNA assistance will be available with ratios adjusted depending on days or nights. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Patient diagnoses will include disorders of the musculoskeletal system, orthopedical trauma, and elective surgical patients. The position requires willingness to float to meet facility needs if necessary. Essential skills include telemetry experience and the ability to manage multiple patient needs efficiently. Travelers may be required to float to nearby affiliated facilities if needed. Refusal to float may result in contract cancellation.
