Description:
The Registered Nurse utilizes the knowledge from nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
The RN responds to life-threatening situations with appropriate nursing interventions.
The RN organizes care delivery by prioritizing, delegating, delivering, evaluating, and communicating with all necessary providers and leaders on an ongoing basis.
Specifically, the orthopedic nurse provides specialized care to patients with musculoskeletal issues, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries or injuries.
The RN will manage chronic conditions and educate patients and families on care and prevention.
Patient ratios are 1:5.
The unit consists of 10 beds and accommodates adult patients.
Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
The RN should have skills in blood product administration, central line care, feeding tube management, and IV maintenance.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
Charting system experience is also preferred.
