The nurse will care for a mix of orthopedic and neurology patients. The daily patient census is approximately 30. The nurse will work a night shift and is required to work weekends. Patient ratios are 5:1. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. Patient care technicians and transporters will be available to assist. The unit provides a free floating charge nurse for additional support. Nurses will be involved in pre and post-neurosurgical care, wound care, and management of orthopedic trauma. The facility requires the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. All candidates must comply with the necessary onboarding requirements. Assistance with obtaining NIHSS certification is available. This role may involve additional responsibilities depending on patient needs and unit demands.
