Description:
Unit consists of 17 beds.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 to 5.
There is a clinical supervisor who oversees the charge duties without patient assignments.
A nurse aide is available for 8 hours during the day.
Weekend requirement includes 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule.
Holidays will be worked into the permanent staff rotation.
Scrub color is navy.
Portable telemetry boxes are available if needed, and nurses must pass a dysrhythmia exam.
No ventilators are present on the unit.
Clientists are available 24/7.
Both respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7.
Shifts are from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
Floating may include a 1 to 4 ratio on telemetry or between other medical-surgical floors.
There is one shift of floor-specific orientation.
Common diagnoses include hips, knees, shoulders, and spine, with no drips involved.
Candidates must possess 2 to 3 years of experience in the specialty along with travel experience.
Being a team player is essential.
The hospital has a cancellation policy that allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during a 13-week assignment.
