Description:
Travel opportunity for an RN specializing in Orthopedic Surgery.
The unit has 44 beds and a staff that varies based on patient census.
Day shift may include a patient charge nurse and approximately 10-11 patients per nurse.
Night shift operates under similar ratios as day shift.
Patient ratios are generally 1:5 for RNs during both days and nights, with a maximum of 1:6 when possible.
Equipment on the unit includes some lifts for mobility, chest tubes, Hemavac drains, wound vacs, JP drains, PCA, and Foley catheters.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, be flexible, and work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Typical procedures performed on this unit include drain removal and PICC line placements with the infusion team.
Candidates with an orthopedic or trauma background are preferred, although medical/surgical experience is also welcome.
