Job Opportunity – Ortho Trauma Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Texas

Start Date: August 24, 2026

Location: Plano, Texas

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36-bed Ortho Trauma Specialty Medical-Surgical unit. Day shift: 6:45 AM start with 1:5 patient ratio (may flex to 1:6). Night shift: 6:45 PM start with 1:5 patient ratio (may flex to 1:6). Four weekend shifts required per schedule commitment.

Highlights:

  • Specialize in ortho trauma care including polytrauma patients, non-surgical cervical fractures, downgraded TBI patients, and burn downgrades
  • Gain experience managing complex cases with up to 3 drains and IV drips including Heparin and Protonix protocols
  • Work with telemetry equipment and Meditech EMR system
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team including charge nurses, RNs, and CNAs on every shift
  • Float to all Medical-Surgical units to expand clinical skills and knowledge
  • Join a facility committed to high-quality orthopedic and trauma specialty care

Requirements:

  • Active RN license in Texas (or eligible for licensure)
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Ortho and/or Trauma patient experience strongly preferred
  • Must be a team player with strong collaboration and communication skills
