Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Med/Surg Trauma – Kansas
Start Date: Multiple orientation dates available beginning October 2026 (bi-weekly orientations)
Location: Topeka, Kansas

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed per week, every other weekend rotation, holiday rotation required (2 federal holidays and 1 spring/2 winter non-essential holidays per year; 1 holiday RTO permitted)

- 27-bed specialized unit caring for post-operative spinal surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic injuries, and trauma-related cases
- Diverse case mix including spinal stenosis, compression fractures, subdural hematomas, craniotomies, traumatic brain injuries, and more
- Epic charting system with test-out option available
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Contract length of 26-51 weeks preferred; 13-week contracts considered on a case-by-case basis

Requirements:
- Active Kansas or Multistate RN license (no hits allowed, no exceptions)
- AHA BLS certification required at time of submission
- ADN or BSN degree
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (no first-time travelers)
- Immunization documentation: Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella (titer or proof of vaccination series), TDaP, TB documentation, and Influenza vaccine or exemption during flu season
- Willingness to float to other post-surgical and med/surg inpatient floors as needed
- Availability for interview and flexibility with assigned orientation date
