Job Opportunity – Neurosurgical / Medical-Surgical RN – North Carolina
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week (no overtime until after 48 hours if applicable), 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
Highlights:
- Neurosurgical procedures and neuro diagnoses patient population
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Epic EMR with Pyxis medication system
- 13-26 week contract lengths accepted
- Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 36-bed unit with comprehensive orientation including 2 unit-specific shifts after hospital orientation
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS, ACLS, and CPI certifications preferred
- Experience with telemetry, IV management, and CVA patients preferred
- Neurosurgical or neuro experience strongly preferred
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Willingness to float as needed and work assigned weekends
- Ability to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team during catastrophic events or disasters
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
