Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week with 1:5-6 patient ratios. Contract length of 13-26 weeks available. Weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract with flexible scheduling options to discuss with hiring team.
Highlights:
- Specialized neurosurgical patient population including pre/post neurosurgery care and cerebrovascular accident management
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and respiratory services
- Two orientation shifts on unit following hospital-based orientation with manager-created scheduling
- Floating required within facility; blocked scheduling may be accommodated based on individual requests
- Maximum 7 days requested time off with auto-approval (excluding holidays)
- Local candidates accepted with adjusted compensation structure
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license (pending licenses accepted for submission)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Neuro experience strongly preferred
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, heparin administration, and wound care
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
