Job Description
Seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in an acute-care Med/Surg environment. The RN will perform patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe, high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care.
- Implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient responses.
- Administer medications utilizing the 5 Rights of Medication Administration.
- Monitor vital signs and recognize changes in patient condition.
- Complete admissions, discharges, hourly rounding, care plans, and patient education.
- Provide and receive bedside shift reports while maintaining patient safety.
- Delegate appropriate patient-care tasks to Healthcare Technicians (HCTs) and validate completion.
- Maintain fall precautions, pressure injury prevention, isolation precautions, and safe ambulation practices.
- Respond promptly to patient call lights and address patient needs.
- Use critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient status.
- Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assist with efficient patient flow, including observation admissions, testing, and discharge processes.
- Maintain a professional and positive environment focused on patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience
- Trauma Level I experience required
- EPIC experience required
- ASN required
- BSN preferred
- Active Illinois RN License in good standing
- BLS – American Heart Association
- Strong critical-thinking, assessment, communication, and time-management skills
Schedule Details
- 3 × 12-hour shifts
- 36 hours/week
- Nights: 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Start Date: 09/07/2026
