Registered Nurse (RN) - Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool

The Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and strong clinical skills.

Position Details

• Unit Type: Med Surg (Medical Surgical)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Shift Information

• Schedule: 4x12s days, with the possibility of 36 hours
• Work every other weekend and holiday

Qualifications

• Active ND RN or Compact state License
• Minimum of 1 year Med Surg experience; Float Pool experience preferred
• BLS certification from AHA required
• NIHSS certification required
• EPIC experience preferred
• Experience in a level 2 or higher trauma center is essential
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment within a facility that has 250+ beds is required

Job Responsibilities

• Perform head-to-toe assessments
• Administer medications via various routes
• Develop and document care plans
• Provide wound, line, and drain care
• Adapt to floating within MedSurg clusters and across multiple locations as necessary

Equipment Utilized

• Epic EMR
• Accudose Rx
• Alaris IV pumps
• Philips vital signs machines

Patient Care

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4-5 from 7am-11pm, and 1:5-6 from 11pm-7am

Training and Orientation

Orientation includes a full shift on a Med-Surg unit and a comprehensive tour of the department and team expectations in the first week post-hire.
