Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients, ensuring adherence to established protocols and standards.
  • Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for side effects and response to treatment.
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, symptom management, and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Epic charting system.
  • Participate in unit activities and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry unit, preferably with oncology experience.
  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
  • Highly preferred: ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card (can be obtained before the assignment start date).
  • Proficiency in Epic charting system.
  • Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as required.
