Job Summary:
Medical Surgical (MS) Nurse - Nights - Located in an Iowa healthcare facility, this position involves providing care to pulmonary and medical surgical patients. The role requires quick turnover during candidate interviews and offers the opportunity to float across multiple campuses. The assignment begins on 10/12/2026 and ends on 01/11/2027, with a schedule of nights, 12 hours shifts, and a minimum of 48 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum 48 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 24 months of current Medical Surgical (MS) experience, pulmonary patient care experience including ventilated patients on bi-pap and trach care, current Iowa State License or multi-state compact license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, drivers license, and professional references from within the past 24 months
- Preferred Qualifications: Recent/current charge nurse experience, level I trauma experience, experience caring for COVID-positive patients
- Float: Float across all campuses including Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist Unit
- Orientation Dates: 10/12/2026
- Submission Requirements: Quick interview process via phone call/text from a 405 area code, resume/employment history reflecting 24 months of Med Surg experience, skills checklist specific to medical surgical discipline, verification of active Iowa or multi-state license, and a professional reference within 24 months
- Holiday Work Requirement: Contractor is required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
- Certifications: BLS from AHA or ARC/Red Cross
- Start Date: 10/12/2026
- End Date: 01/11/2027
