Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Medical Surgical nursing within a cutting-edge medical/surgical unit focused on innovation and new technologies. Candidates will need to adapt to a dynamic work environment and be willing to float to other areas as staffing needs arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a 32-bed medical/surgical unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.
• Participate in self-scheduling within assigned groups, rotating every scheduling period.
• Engage in patient care responsibilities while utilizing innovative technologies and practice models.
• Work every other weekend and on assigned holidays as part of a pre-defined holiday rotation.
• Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes.

Work Schedule

The position offers flexible scheduling options, allowing candidates to choose between 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts. Standard shifts will typically be scheduled from 07:00 to 19:00.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical/surgical setting is required.
• BLS certification is mandatory.
• Pending licensure will be accepted for candidates awaiting certification.
• Ability to work from 8 to 26 weeks as needed.
• First-time candidates are welcome to apply.
• Local candidates living within a 50-mile radius are not accepted for this position.

Important Information

On the first day, the RN will take the Drug Screening at Employee Health before commencing their first scheduled shift on the following Tuesday. Any requests for time-off must be documented in submission covers and confirmed in assignment documentation.

The unit is designed as a hub for medical innovation, utilizing Hercules beds and embracing new technologies that facilitate advanced nursing practices. Team members are encouraged to be early adopters of innovative solutions that enhance patient care.
