Medical-Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Neuro Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated team. This position is focused on delivering high-quality nursing care specifically in a neuro unit, with responsibilities related to various neuro surgical procedures and diagnoses.

Shift Details

  • Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 - 07:15)
  • Contract terms: 36 or 48 hours accepted
  • Longer contracts available (13-26 weeks)
  • Weekend Requirement: 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
  • Floating required between units

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing neuro surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members for effective patient management.
  • Adhere to safety protocols during catastrophic events or disasters.
  • Utilize Pyxis, SBAR, and EPIC for medication management and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
  • 2 years of nursing experience required.
  • Neuro experience preferred, with first-time travelers accepted.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS, CPI, & NIHSS certifications preferred.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Orientation

Orientation will include 2 shifts on the unit following a hospital-based orientation.

Uniform

Navy scrubs are required for this position.

Important Notes

  • RTO after booking is not permitted, and any additional RTO could result in contract cancellation.
  • Contract staff may be assigned to storm and hurricane teams as needed.
