Med Ninjas is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.
Job Summary
Perform comprehensive physical assessments of patients upon admission and monitor changes in condition throughout the shift.
Administer oral, intravenous (IV), and injected medications, while carefully monitoring for side effects.
Provide post-operative care, including management of surgical recovery, complex wound care, dressing changes, and promoting early mobility.
Operate and maintain medical equipment such as IV pumps, oxygen therapy tanks, urinary catheters, and feeding tubes.
Coordinate patient care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physical therapists, case managers, and dietitians.
Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, discharge instructions, medication management, and necessary lifestyle changes for ongoing care at home.
Med Ninjas Job ID #19999. Pay package is based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
