Job Summary: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources within the institution's philosophy. Responsibilities include performing unit-specific duties, implementing procedures and theories, maintaining accurate documentation, conducting initial assessments, developing and modifying care plans, ensuring patient and employee safety, and collaborating with colleagues for professional development. The RN monitors EMU patients for seizure activity, ensures effective communication with patients and families, and works with critical care teams and hospitalists for Advanced Care patients.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience
• ASN degree
• Illinois state RN License in good standing
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association)

Preferred Qualifications:

• BSN degree
