  • Shift: Nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.

Registered Nurse House Supervisor Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid for practice in Washington; compact license must be active and in hand at submission when applicable
  • At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
  • Previous charge nurse, house supervisor, and nursing supervisory experience required
  • Strong Emergency Department nursing experience required
  • Ability and willingness to function as a second nurse in the Emergency Department
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Experience with Epic charting required
  • Current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, NRP, and PALS certifications
  • Demonstrated ability to support patient ratios of approximately 6:1 while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care

Travel RN House Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical leadership and operational oversight for the Emergency Department and Acute Care unit during assigned shifts
  • Coordinate nursing staff, assignments, patient flow, admissions, transfers, and care transitions
  • Support Emergency Department care as a second nurse, including assessment and treatment of patients with conditions ranging from minor illness to stroke, chest pain, sepsis, and other critical emergencies
  • Assist with code management, rapid response activities, crisis intervention, and emergency preparedness
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, ancillary departments, and interdisciplinary support services to promote efficient patient care
  • Provide guidance during new admissions, discharge processes, escalation of care, and complex clinical situations
  • Monitor patient safety, regulatory compliance, documentation, infection control, restraint use, and sentinel-event reporting practices
  • Demonstrate skilled communication, de-escalation, customer service, and conflict-management techniques
  • Support IV initiation and maintenance, isolation procedures, pediatric care, and acute-care nursing needs as required
