Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources, all within the institution's philosophy.
Key Functions:
- Performs responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service.
- Implements procedures and theories related to the area of practice.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for healthcare team integration.
- Completes initial patient assessments upon admission and develops appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs.
- Implements care plans, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures.
- Continuously evaluates and modifies care plans as needed.
- Ensures patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
- Communicates effectively to resolve issues and provides constructive feedback for peer development.
- Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to address them.
- Fulfills all departmental competency requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Illinois state RN License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
