First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois.

Shift: 12-Hour Shifts
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Night Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Weekend: Every Other Weekend
Holiday: Rotating / Every Other Holiday

Scrub Color: Any Color
Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor + 1 additional 12-hour orientation shift
OSF is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse – Surgical Acute Care to provide high-quality care to a diverse population of post-operative, surgical and trauma patients.
The Surgical Acute unit consists of 63 beds, including 49 private rooms and 9 observation beds. The ideal candidate should have strong post-operative nursing experience, excellent critical-thinking skills, a good bedside manner and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

The Surgical Acute unit cares for patients with a variety of surgical and medical needs, including:
RNs should be comfortable providing comprehensive post-operative care and managing patients with varying levels of acuity.
Respiratory Therapy manages nebulizer treatments.
RNs are responsible for inhaler administration and may place patients on CPAP as appropriate.
PCT support is available:
PCT responsibilities include:
Day: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Night: 7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Every Other Weekend
Saturday and Sunday are considered weekend shifts.
Travelers will rotate every other holiday as required.
No call or standby requirement.
Travelers are the first to float when staffing needs require.
Travelers will be floated to units where their level of experience is appropriate.
For example, if an ICU RN is floated to a general unit, the traveler may receive a smaller assignment of approximately 3 patients.
Orientation includes:
A local rate applies to clinicians whose permanent address is within 50 miles of the facility.
The local rate is $25 lower than the regular and overtime bill rates.
OSF may call off a traveler for the equivalent of 12 hours during a 13-week assignment without penalty or requiring the traveler to pay for the missed shift.
The first work week includes 12 hours of non-billable orientation.
Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation.

The ideal candidate is a confident Surgical Acute Care RN with strong post-operative nursing experience, excellent critical-thinking skills and the ability to care for surgical, trauma and medically complex patients.
A strong team player with excellent bedside manner and the ability to recognize when to escalate concerns will be highly successful in this assignment.
