Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This is a contract position with a focus on delivering excellent nursing services to patients in a medical surgical unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on the medical surgical unit.
• Monitor patient health, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Offer support and education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatments.
• Document patient care, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system (Cerner).
• Adhere to safety and infection control standards in all aspects of patient care.

Schedule

This position is available for night shifts, with flexible blocks for weekdays and weekends. Specific scheduling requests cannot be guaranteed but will be accommodated as best as possible.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting.
• Current certifications required: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIH), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Patient Care Ratios

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio on this unit is 1:5-7, ensuring adequate attention can be given to each patient's needs.

Additional Information

Scrubs will not be provided, and candidates are expected to supply their own. Traveling experience is not required for applicants.

Attendance Policy

Please note that the facility maintains a strict attendance policy, allowing only 2-3 call-offs throughout the contract duration.
