Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical-surgical nursing and be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, including possible assignments involving COVID-19 patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide care to adults and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, utilizing systems such as PYXIS and EPIC for documentation.
• Participate in the Inclement Weather Team, reporting to work during severe weather or catastrophic events.
• Participate in patient care activities including, but not limited to, administering heparin drips and performing wound vac dressing changes.
• Engage in regular team meetings and contribute to collaborative patient care planning.

Shift Information

Shifts will involve a 3x12 hour schedule from 06:45 AM to 07:15 PM. Weekend work is required, with every other weekend rotations expected. Holiday shifts may also be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Certifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system is mandatory.
• BCLS certification required.

Preferred Skills and Certifications

• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification.
• Previous experience in a charge nurse role.

Additional Information

All travelers and staff are expected to undergo unit orientation (24 hours) prior to starting. Attendance at team meetings is mandatory, with meetings scheduled monthly. Internal notes indicate that candidates must pass EKG testing prior to commencement. Travelers are advised of the potential for being assigned to every other weekend shifts and to participate in an Inclement Weather Team.
