Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Med Surg Resource Team/Float Pool. This role involves working flexible shifts and provides a dynamic environment for clinical professionals who thrive in fast-paced settings.

Shift Details

  • 12-hour shifts
  • Every other weekend and holiday required
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform head-to-toe assessments and administer medications via various routes
  • Formulate and document care plans
  • Provide wound, line, and drain care
  • Float within the MedSurg cluster and between multiple locations as needed

Qualifications

  • Active ND RN or Compact state license
  • Minimum of 1 year of recent Med Surg experience; Float Pool experience preferred
  • Must have BLS certification (AHA) and NIHSS certification
  • Experience with EPIC EMR is required
  • Must have experience working within a Level 2 or higher trauma center
  • Experience in a fast-paced hospital setting with 250+ beds

Unit Information

The unit consists of multiple Med-Surg specialty areas, including but not limited to:

  • Oncology
  • General Med-Surg
  • Trauma Med-Surg
  • Cardiac
  • Neuro
  • Observation
  • Medical Behavioral
  • Innovations

Nurse to Patient Ratio

The nurse to patient ratio is approximately:

  • 1:4-5 from 7 AM to 11 PM
  • 1:5-6 from 11 PM to 7 AM

Training and Orientation

All new hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation program, which includes:

  • One full shift on a Med-Surg unit for familiarization
  • Overview of team expectations and a facility tour

Scrubs and Equipment

Team members will wear navy blue scrubs and utilize equipment such as:

  • Epic EMR
  • Accudose Rx
  • Alaris IV pumps
  • Philips vital machines
