The unit features 4 monitored step-down beds in addition to its Medical Surgical population, making this a particularly good fit for nurses with step-down, cardiac, or higher-acuity experience.

You'll care for a diverse patient population that may include medical-surgical patients, swing-bed patients, pediatric patients, and patients requiring monitored care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients across multiple levels of acuity.
• Care for Medical Surgical and swing-bed patients.
• Monitor patients in the unit's 4 monitored step-down beds.
• Safely administer and monitor medicated IV drips.
• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients when assigned.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing monitoring.
• Administer medications and treatments according to orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and ongoing care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using CPSI.
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment while managing multiple patient needs.

Requirements:

• Active RN license appropriate for the assignment.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical RN experience.
• BLS – Required
• ACLS – Required
• PALS – Preferred
• Step-down or cardiac experience strongly recommended.
• Comfortable working with patients across different acuity levels.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
