Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Floor Nurse in New York State This position involves providing comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting. The registered nurse (RN) is responsible for implementing patient care plans, educating patients and families, and ensuring compliance with all standards and regulations. The role emphasizes patient-centered care within a fast-paced environment, supporting the organizations commitment to quality and safety.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every other weekend from 09/28/2026 to 12/26/2026
- Required Qualifications: Nursing (RN) experience of six (6) months to three (3) years; Management experience of zero (0) to three (3) years; Five or more (5+) years of direct clinical experience; Collaboration; Communication (verbal & written); Judgement/Critical Thinking; Organizational Understanding; Planning (Organizing, Time Management); Problem Solving; Quality; Reliability; Safety and Risk Management; Current NYS RN License; BLS Certification from AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; Professional certification in a related nursing specialty; Relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the home unit.
- Additional Information: The RN will assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care, serve as a primary nurse, and educate patients and families. Responsibilities include medication administration, participation in shared governance, ongoing professional development, and integrating current evidence-based practices. The role may involve supporting new employees and students, with responsibilities aligned to organizational standards and policies.
