Med/Surg RN Job Requirements

• Active Washington Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg, PCU, or telemetry nursing experience
• Ability to care for adult medical-surgical and progressive care patients
• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring and safe operation of equipment used in PCU, telemetry, and Med/Surg settings
• Strong patient assessment, communication, documentation, and critical-thinking skills
• Willingness to flex between departments as patient-care needs require
• Availability to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requested time off

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult Med/Surg, PCU, and telemetry patients during assigned night shifts
• Assess patient and family education needs and provide instruction using appropriate teaching methods
• Promote patient safety through preventative interventions, proper equipment use, and adherence to restraint policies when applicable
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate critical findings to providers promptly
• Implement infection prevention, isolation, and standard precaution procedures
• Complete accurate, timely documentation of assessments, interventions, patient responses, orders, and charges
• Provide thorough change-of-shift reports and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary departments
• Troubleshoot essential equipment, follow repair procedures, and access equipment resources as needed
• Maintain emergency carts and restock patient rooms and general supplies
• Support a flexible team environment and perform other duties as assigned
