Medical Surgical (MS) Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking an experienced Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality clinical care in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse patient population, including adults with various medical conditions, particularly those requiring post-surgical care.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with common diagnoses, including abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity.
Utilize specialty equipment such as IV pumps, nasogastric (N/G) tubes, and feeding tubes to enhance patient care.
Monitor patient progress, document changes, and adjust care plans as necessary.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate optimal patient care.
Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and self-care post-discharge.
Participate in floating to other units as required, supporting team needs.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical nursing.
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York, with verification from NURSYS.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Proven travel experience within healthcare settings is required.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
Valid driver's license with an address matching demographics.

Shift and Scheduling

The position operates on a night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and flexibility is required.

Scrub color is navy blue for this position.
