Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to join our team. This role requires a strong background in providing high-quality patient care, particularly for adults recovering from surgical procedures.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in the Medical-Surgical unit, primarily caring for adult patients with common diagnoses including:

  • Post-surgical care
  • Abdominal pain
  • Cholelithiasis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Fractures
  • Back pain
  • Morbid obesity (bariatric surgery)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients.
  • Utilize specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document patient information and care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Participate in floating to other units as required based on patient needs.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York with verification from NURSYS.
  • Two or more years of experience in a medical-surgical nursing role.
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems, preferably EPIC.
  • Valid driver's license with an address that matches demographics.

Work Schedule

The position offers a shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Block scheduling is not promised or guaranteed.

Additional Information

The role requires flexibility and adaptability, including the possibility of floating to other units as necessary.
