Float Pool Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking experienced registered nurses for a float pool position. Candidates must have an education verification, a current Wisconsin nursing license, NIHSS certification, and CPR/BLS certification.

This position requires flexibility as the nurse will float to multiple inpatient units, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, Ortho/Neuro, and Sub-Acute Units. This is a night shift role with hours from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, and the candidate must be available for every other weekend and holiday coverage.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in providing care for patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice acts.
• Document patient care according to established standards.
• Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by the physician and according to hospital policies, including patient and family education.
• Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
• Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
• Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, appropriately escalating issues to the chain of command as needed.

Shift Information

This position is a night shift role, working from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Holiday coverage is required.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of less than 1 year of nursing experience required.

Certifications / Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS/CPR certification
• NIHSS certification
