Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a Urology Unit. The ideal candidate will be experienced in high-acuity patient care and comfortable managing a patient ratio of 1:6 or 1:7.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment.
• Administer medications and manage insulin and heparin drips proficiently.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Engage in ongoing patient education and provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Participate in orientation and training sessions as required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with a strong background in high acuity environments.
• BLS and NIH certifications required.
• A valid compact or Alabama nursing license, active and in good standing.
• Comfort and proficiency with high acuity patient care and managing patient ratios of 1:6 or 1:7.
• Experience with peritoneal dialysis is a plus but not required.

Work Schedule

This position offers flexible scheduling options, with 36 or 48 hours available per week. Block scheduling is possible, excluding holidays, with weekend work required every other week.

Additional Requirements

All candidates must be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided. A flu shot is also required, or a documented religious or medical exemption.

Appearance

Employees are required to wear navy scrubs or navy pants with a white top.

Orientation

Orientation sessions are held every other Monday, with training taking place over a 16-hour period that is non-billable.
