PEL/VIP is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Macon, Georgia.

RN - MedSurg/Tele | Location

Assignment Overview

We are seeking an experienced RN with strong MedSurg and Telemetry skills to join our team at a Level 1 Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience and will be comfortable working with diverse patient types, including those with orthopedic and trauma conditions, acute or chronic diseases, and post-operative needs. Assignment Details

  • Unit Beds: 35
  • Patient Ratios: RN 1:4-6
  • Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Weekend Rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (6-week schedule)
  • Holiday Expectations: Work one shift of each major holiday
  • Floating: All adult med surg/telemetry units in-house
  • Orientation: 1 day facility, 2 days departmental
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Estimated Gross Weekly Pay Package: $2400 (negotiable)

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients with fractures, head trauma, osteomyelitis, diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances
  • Perform trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and various drips including glucommander and insulin
  • Central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring
  • Cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation
  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams
  • Discharge planning and patient education, particularly for renal and fluid management

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
  • BLS
  • Basic Cardiac Rhythm knowledge (passing EKG competency exam required)
  • Skills in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and care

Preferred:

  • ACLS
  • National certification in Medical-surgical or Nephrology nursing
