Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Maryland or a compact license; pending licensure may be considered
• Minimum 5 years of recent RN experience in acute care or hospital nursing
• At least 1 completed travel assignment
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Cerner experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work in a setting with patient ratios around 1:5–6
• Comfort working nights and supporting weekend rotation as needed

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing operations and provide leadership across the unit during assigned shifts
• Serve as a clinical resource for staff and assist with staffing coordination and patient flow
• Support charge nurse functions, escalation management, and timely problem-solving
• Promote safe, efficient care delivery across multiple patient care areas
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain smooth daily operations
• Help manage admissions, discharges, transfers, and urgent clinical needs
• Support policy adherence, quality initiatives, and a positive team environment
• Provide confident decision-making in fast-paced, high-acuity situations
